Chinese Banyan Ficus microcarpa I’m Hal, the Banyan, and native to Southeast Asia. I have a main trunk that divides into many branches that support a dense canopy. When I get older I’ll sport aerial roots that hang from my branches. I represent longevity and knowledge. Buddha himself sat under my ancestor's branches when he attained enlightenment. I like bright indirect light but can also survive in shade. To water, submerge my pot in water for 15 minutes. Submerge about once every 5 days. Keep me in temperatures between 50-80 ̊F. I like getting pet! Give me a branch and leaf haircut 3 times a year to keep me from getting too big.
